GPIO is a relatively common term in industrial computer. Many customers are inquiring about this knowledge. Today, I will share with you the GPIO in industrial computer.

What is GPIO?

Definition: General-purpose input and output modules. Most of them are used in embedded industrial computers. They are bus expanders that can provide additional control and monitoring functions for data acquisition and drive control, so they are divided into DI (digital input) and DO (digital output).

What is the application of the GPIO module in the industrial control industry?

The GT5000 industrial computer has an 8-way GPIO port, and the interface type is very similar to our nine-pin serial port. In practical applications, this is mainly used for switch control. In addition to 8 GPIO, there are 16 GPIO, 32, 64, etc., the working mode is the same: half is output, half is input.

Focus on analyzing the application of GPIO in key detection. Key detection is actually an interrupt that we often talk about. Toggles and interrupts between high and low levels.

Generally, the default state of a GPIO port is a low level. When the button is pressed, it is pulled to a high level, and the system can automatically detect this high or low level and make corresponding judgments. For example: when the button is pressed, the system detects that it is a high level, and the GPIO will be automatically interrupted. When the button is released, the GPIO port detects that the voltage returns to a low level, and it is determined that the button is released.
